Revolt. She Said. Revolt Again.

CONCEPT STATEMENT

The scenic elements for this show was a physical representation of how the women pick apart the world construct they are currently living in. The furniture while starting off the show fulling intact starts to crumble and is picked apart by the women to create jagged edges. Their world view tearing apart at the seams come into full swing in act 3 when the women start to rip down chunks of the curtain that had been acting as a wall for the actors. In addition to that all of the exposed black box walls had posters and objects typically associated with women. These objects blended into the wall as a representation of how engrained these ideas are in society. The women throughout the show hang up props from each scene to create a visualization of all of the moments in the show before all of the objects lower at the end. This leaves the women with the choice to stay in this world they've been trying to build over, or to leave and start a new.
