The goal the scenic designer gave was to make the set look both dry and wet. The edges of the platform were painted a darker brown with the center being a pale, dry tan. These colors were wet brushed on and immediately gone over with a sponge roller for added texture during the blending process. The wooden units were painted to look worn down, dirty, and as though they got the material from the land itself as they took resources away from natives to make their own objects.
